I used to make this for the kids when they were little. They would drink it so fast I would have to double and sometimes triple the recipe.
1 T. finely grated lemon rind
1 ½ c. sugar
1 ½ c. hot water
1 ½ c. fresh squeezed lemon juice
ice cold water
- Dissolve the hot water and sugar.
- Add the rind to the mixture.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and mix.
- Add fresh cold water to the mixture to make 1 gallon.
- Float lemon slices.
To triple use 4 ½ c. sugar, 4 ½ hot water, and 4 ½ lemon juice. This makes 11 cups. Divide in to 3 gallon containers.
