I used to make this for the kids when they were little.  They would drink it so fast I would have to double and sometimes triple the recipe.

1 T. finely grated lemon rind
1 ½ c. sugar
1 ½ c. hot water
1 ½ c. fresh squeezed lemon juice
ice cold water
  1. Dissolve the hot water and sugar.
  2. Add the rind to the mixture.
  3. Add the fresh lemon juice and mix.
  4. Add fresh cold water to the mixture to make 1 gallon.
  5. Float lemon slices.
To double use 3 c. sugar, 3 c. hot water 3 c. juice.  This makes 8 c. juice.  Divide into two 1 gallon containers.
To triple use 4 ½ c. sugar, 4 ½ hot water, and 4 ½ lemon juice.  This makes 11 cups.  Divide in to 3 gallon containers.
