Banana Dainty (Whipped Cream Banana Pudding)

 This is a very old recipe from my grandmother.  It's really easy to make and tastes light and delicious.

2 large bananas
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup heavy cream
chopped nuts, optional
  1. Peel 2 large bananas.
  2. Peel any coarse threads and finely mash the bananas.
  3. Add 1/2 c. sugar and 2 T. lemon juice.
  4. Put mixture in a medium size cooking pot.
  5. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until the mixture bubbles.
  6. Remove from heat and place mixture in a bowl.
  7. Chill thoroughly.
  8. Whip 3/4 c. heavy cream and fold in the banana mixture.
  9. Add chopped nuts if desired.
