2 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. plus 2 T. shortening
- Heat waffle iron.
- Beat eggs.
- Beat in remaining ingredients with rotary beater until smooth.
- Pour batter from a cup or pitcher onto center of a hot waffle iron.
- Bake bout 5 minutes or until steaming stops.
- Makes about 8, 7" waffles.
