Panko bread crumbs are far superior to regular bread crumbs. They are far crisper and hold their crispness much longer. It makes it easy to stage a dish...say onion rings. Do all the dipping and coating ahead and put in refrigerator til time to cook. Here's a video showing how they are made. Very interesting. You can stop at 3:52.
