Beef Roast with Easy Au Jus

This smells wonderful when it is cooking.  Tastes great too.

1 3-pound beef roast (or any size)
1/2 to 3/4 stick of butter
Worcestershire sauce about 3 T. or to taste
1 thick slice onion
salt and pepper
1 can beef broth

  1. Put roast in a baking pan with sides and salt and pepper.
  2. Attach onion to the top of the roast with a toothpick.
  3. Melt butter and Worcestershire sauce together and pour over all.
  4. Roast 25 minutes per pound for medium rare.
  5. When done remove roast and let rest.
  6. To prepare the au jus, add a little water to the pan and stir.
  7. Add the beef broth to this mixture.
  8. Strain, heat and serve.
