Strawberry Pie


This must be made the morning of the day you will be serving. This was my grandmother’s recipe. It’s tasty and pretty.

1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 cup water

½ of a 3-ounce package strawberry Jell-o

1 quart cleaned, whole strawberries

Baked pie shell

  1. Mix the sugar, cornstarch and water in a 2-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from the heat.
  2. Add the half package of strawberry Jell-o.
  3. Cool to room temperature.
  4. Place the whole strawberries tip side up in baked pie shell.
  5. Pour the Jell-o mixture over the strawberries.
  6. Refrigerate for several hours, covered with foil.
