Maple-Glazed Waffle Sandwich

Me sister Judy sent this recipe to me.  Her notes were "worse recipe ever for a school day breakfast."  I feel 5 pounds heavier just for reading the recipe.

  1. Whisk 1 c. confectioners' sugar, 6 T. maple syrup and 1 pinch cayenne pepper in a pie plate.
  2. Dip one side of 8 prepared, cooled waffles in maple glaze, let excess drip off, then place on a tray to dry, glaze side up, about 45 minutes.
  3. Put 4 waffles on 4 plates, glaze side up.
  4. Cook 12 mini turkey sausage patties until heated through; divide among waffles.
  5. Fry 4 eggs in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat to desired doneness.
  6. Top each sandwich with 1 fried egg.
  7. Set remaining waffles into place, glaze side down.
