Crock Pot Hot Honeyed Spare Ribs

4 pounds baby back ribs, cut in half
1 clove fresh garlic, chopped
1 t. pepper
1/3 c. honey
1/4 c. chili garlic sauce (buy in the Asian Section-this brand is Huy Fong Food brand)
1 c. Catalina salad dressing
1 t. ground ginger
1/2 c. low-sodium soy sauce
  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Line bottom portion of broiler pan with foil for easy clean up.
  3. Spray top rack lightly with cooking spray.
  4. Season ribs with garlic, salt and pepper.
  5. Broil for 5  to 6 minutes, turn and broil for an additional 5 to 6 minutes.
  6. Place the browned ribs in the slow cooker.
  7. In a mixing bowl, stir together remaining ingredients and pour over the ribs.
  8. Move around to assure that they are all coated.
  9. Cover and cook on high setting for 3 to 4 hours or low setting for 8 hours.
  10. With tongs, remove ribs from slow cooker and let cool slightly before cutting in to individual rib pieces.
