Green Beans with Bacon and Vinegar

This is good enough for company!
Serves 3-4

1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed and cut in 1" pieces
6 slices bacon
¼ c. sugar
2 T. white vinegar
1 t. fresh lemon juice
  1. Cook the beans in boiling water until tender crisp.  Drain.
  2. Fry the bacon until brown.  Remove and place on paper towels to drain.
  3. Reserve about 2 T. of the bacon fat.  Add the sugar, vinegar and lemon juice to the bacon fat.
  4. Simmer 3 minutes.
  5. Pour over the drained beans.
  6. Add bacon bits, toss and serve.
