Chile Caliente

This is a really good chile recipe.  It's involved so if you are short on time make the recipe for Grandma Davidson's chile.

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
2 (1 pound) cans kidney beans, drained
1 c. (12 ounce jar) chile sauce
1/3 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. green pepper, chopped
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
2 ½ t. chili powder
2 t. salt
1 t. sugar
½ t. ground cumin
¼ t. ground pepper
3 drops of hot pepper sauce
1/2 square (½ ounce) unsweetened chocolate
taco shells (optional)
shredded Cheddar cheese (optional
  1. Brown meat and drain off excess fat.
  2. Blend meat with the next 14 ingredients together in a 5-quart saucepan or Dutch onion.
  3. Simmer over low heat for 3 to 4 hours, or until spices and sauce are thoroughly blended, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve in bowls or spoon chili into taco shells and top with shredded cheese.
