Banana Cream Pie

Mix:
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
2 1/2 T. cornstarch
1 T. flour
  1. Stir in gradually:  3 c. milk.
  2. Cook over medium heat- stirring-until thick.
  3. Boil for 1 minute.
  4. Remove from heat and put a little of this hot stuff with 3 egg yolks slightly beaten.
  5. Mix this back into the saucepan stuff.
  6. Boil 1 minute more stirring constantly.
  7. Remove from the heat and stir in 1 T. butter and 1 1/2 t. vanilla.
  8. Cool.
  9. Stir as it cools so it doesn't form a "skin".
  10. Pour over bananas sliced into a baked 9" pie shell.
  11. Chill.
  12. Serve topped with whipped cream.  You can add vanilla and 1 T. or so of confectioners sugar to the whipped cream.
