Cheese Casserole

I love this recipe.  It always turns out light and puffy and beautiful.  Great for company.

1 lb. coarsely grated cheese
9 slices day old bread, crusts removed
salt and pepper
  2 bunch's green onions, chopped
4 eggs lightly beaten
3 c. milk
1 t. dry mustard
1 t. Worcestershire sauce
2 T. grated Parmesan cheese
  1. Cut 3 slices of bread to cover bottom of a greased 2 quart casserole.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, half the onions and half of the cheese.
  3. Make another layer of bread, salt and pepper, onion and cheese.
  4. Top with the last layer of bread.
  5. Mix eggs, milk, mustard, Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Pour over casserole and refrigerate all day or overnight.
  7. Remove from the refrigerator 2 hours before baking.
  8. Top with Parmesan and bake 60- 90 minutes or until set and brown on top.
  9. Serve as soon as removed from the oven.
