1 cup butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

- Cream the butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients.
- Place mixture in a greased 11 x 16 inch pan and press flat with wet hands.
- Cover entire mixture with wax paper and place another pan over it and press down.
- Remove paper.
- Brush top well with slightly beaten egg white.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans over egg whites and press down.
- Bake at 325 degrees about 35 to 40 minutes.
- Cut at once into 1” x 1 ½ “ rectangles.
