Bread Machine Basic Bread Recipe

This recipe is for a 1 1/2 pound machine (maximum 3 cups flour).  It's a basic bread recipe.  I just made 2 loaves and cubed the bread to use for Thanksgiving stuffing.   My mother bought the bread and cubed it a week before Thanksgiving.   She had a big white bowl and would toss the cubes with her hands every so often to dry the bread out.  I now do the same thing and it makes me smile every time I toss.

2 T. sugar
1 1/2 T. dry milk
1 1/2 t. salt
1 1/4 c. water
1 1/2 T. butter
2 t. quick rise yeast or 3 t. regular yeast 
  1. Put all the ingredients except the yeast in the bread machine bowl. 
  2. Put the yeast in the yeast dispenser.
  3. Set your settings as your machine manual tells you to.
