Michigan Reunion Salad

This is one of those recipes that I would have passed up had I not been served it and loved it at our family reunion.
The dressing is what makes this so delicious.
No substitutions!
Salad:
2 heads romaine lettuce, torn in to bite size pieces
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
sections of fresh orange
toasted pecans, optional
Dressing:
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup cider vinegar
4 teaspoons sugar
4 cloves garlic, pressed

  1. Assemble salad ingredients. Cover with a damp paper towel and crisp in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  2. Assemble and chill the dressing.
  3. Toss with dressing and serve.
