Garlic Lemon Green Beans


4 T. butter
1 large clove garlic, peeled and halved lengthwise
1 pound green beans, cleaned
1 t. lemon zest
1/4 t. sea salt
  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and the garlic together over very low heat.
  2. Cook for 2 minutes, being careful to avoid browning the butter.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat, and allow the garlic to sit in the butter for an additional 5 minutes.  For a more intense garlic flavor, press one of the garlic halves in to the butter.
  4. Boil or steam beans until tender crisp.
  5. Remove the garlic 1/2 clove from the butter and discard.
  6. Toss the beans with the garlic-infused butter, lemon zest and sea salt.  Serve hot.
