I've made this for years. It cooks really slowly in the oven. I love to come home to the smell of the smokey brisket. Assemble the ingredients the night before cooking.
1, 4-to-6-pound beef brisket
1–4-ounce bottle of liquid smoke
Garlic salt or powder
onion salt or powder
celery salt
Worcestershire sauce to taste
pepper
BBQ sauce, homemade or store bought
- Place the meat in a long shallow pan.
- Cover with the liquid smoke and sprinkle generously with the garlic salt, onion salt and celery salt.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Sprinkle generously with Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
- Cover with foil and bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour per pound.
- Uncover and cover with BBQ sauce (recipe follows) and bake 1 hour longer.
